KIS(cubed) for the Win!

Nirjary M. Desai wins the 2024 Allie Award for Best Wedding

2024 for has been an amazing year thus far, even though it started out super hectic with work, illness, travel, family chaos and trying to balance life. One of the highlights in recent weeks has been that our team won an Allie Award for Best Wedding for a production we did in Napa Valley, CA (pictured below).

When I posted on Instagram and Facebook about receiving this award, I got so much love & support from my followers and community, but I also got messages like:

“You are Lucky!”

…and questions like:

“WOW! How do I Win an Award?”

“Can you tell me your secret recipe to be the BEST?”

With social media, it’s really important to take everything with a grain of salt. It’s not healthy to take everything at face value. Some compliments and questions can feel backhanded and give off hater vibes, but if you’re going to be in the public eye, you need to learn how to shake it off and carry on. The reality is that I, nor my tearm, are “lucky”. We put in the hard work, day in and day out. Fun fact: I’ve actually been submitting events in multiple categories for the last 5 years, and this is the first time I won! I kept my head down, worked hard, fell down, got up and tried again; and not for any award, but to support myself and my family by doing what I love. There is no secret recipe to winning except to DO THE WORK and be the absolute best version of yourself! I, along with my team, am only as good as our last event; so it's extremely important to make sure each one counts and that you give maximum effort. That is how you become “The Best” and that is how you win.

I am so grateful to be able to create and tell stories every day through our events for our clients; it fills my heart with joy for all of our hard work to be recognized and to achieve this milestone. The journey to get here was not easy, but I got up and did it again and again until I perfected my craft alongside the army of supporters and partners we have in our orbit! Yes, I proudly accepted this award…but I did so on behalf of my Culture, Friends & Family, Loyal Clients, Vendors & Suppliers, Industry Cheerleaders, and — of course — my amazing KIS(cubed) Team. I stand tall because of all of you and that is my true award…to be here and tell my story of a South Asian girl who dreamed of wanting to shine on stage through Elevated Excellence. I am humbly at your Service…
